Exemptions & Low Risk Work

Yes, there are some exemptions allowed under the Building Act. The Director of building Control published categories of building work that do not require the engagement of a building surveyor, called Low Risk Work. The document is called:

Your Council’s Permit Authority can also provide you with the correct advice regarding where your project fits in the director’s categories document.
